OSTARA HARES. THE AWAKENING OF SPRING.

My two beautiful hares are celebrating the arrival of Spring & the change of season; looking to the months ahead & the awakening of the earth as the days get warmer. This was partly inspired by my old and beloved 4 legged sidekick, who I often found at this time of year, eyes closed & face raised to the gentle warmth & light of the spring sunshine. He's was usually sat in a shelted corner - be it beach, moors, or garden. I lost my sidekick last year, but he's buried in a sunny spot in the garden in front of my studio, where he can soak up that early spring sunshine (and where I can chat to him when I'm working) My hares are doing the same, faces raised, joyful in the promise of warmer days; worshipping the sun, albeit weak spring sunshine interspersed with the always reliable spring showers! The flower in the centre is the promise of all the fresh growth that will burst into life once the earth has warmed enough.

I painted/drew this using inks & watercolours, so it's a mixed media piece. On the original painting the hares eyes are gold, so I have added this detail to each print too. I have a limited run of only 50 prints of this available, each one signed and numbered on the back. I have also written the number and name in pencil on the front. Some people like it on the mount, some don't - it's easily erased if you prefer it without. Each print comes in an 8 x 10 inch ivory mount. I do have a couple of other coloured mounts available, so please ask if you prefer a different colour - if I can accommodate you I will!

UK shipping is free. If you would like me to ship elsewhere, please ask me first. Sadly posting abroad from the UK has become unnecessarily complicated.
