Unique OOAK Sleeping Mermaids, Handmade in Cornwall, Sleeping in their Shell Rockpools with their Treasure. Handpainted Resin with Shells and Seaglass.

These delightful little mermaids are fast asleep, snoozing in the sunshine. They are in little rockpools in their shells, and are surrounded by all the bits of treasure they have collected - tiny shells and bits of seaglass. 

I thoroughly enjoyed making these two little beauties. I cast the mermaids in resin, and they were handpainted in reverse. I have used shimmering colours, that catch the light and change slightly depending on the angle viewed. Once I'd made the mermaids, I set them into the 'water' with their little bits of treasure. All the treasure has been collected on Cornish beaches, so they are perfect keepsakes from Cornwall. I think they would make wonderful gifts, perhaps for children as a memento of a happy holiday in Cornwall. Maybe for someone with a sea, or beach themed room. Or someone who just loves Cornwall, or Mermaids! They are completely unique, and I only made two, so these are it.
